Let it be a call-to-arms. A mantra for the misguided. At Aidan Gill
for Men, we’re drawing the line between men and women’s grooming
for once and all. On our side, the passing frivolities of fashion hold
no sway. We’re focused on the timeless – the handmade razor,
the badger shave brush, the well-made necktie. And in our back room, the
ultimate experience – the Shave at the End of the Galaxy – a
hot towel shave so luxurious that Irish poets fall to tears in describing
it. Come in and see the style and the services for yourself. Leave unisex
to the women. Sit back and let us pour you a drink. Don’t worry – we’ve
seen that expression on many men’s faces before, and we know just
what to do about it.

We're pleased to note that GQ, Esquire, Town and Country, Travel and
Leisure, Southern Living, Time Out and Country Living magazines, have
all acknowledged a fact we've long known: "It's Aidan's world; we're
just living in it." Cheers for the compliments on our hot towel shaves
("relaxing enough to put you in a coma") and approbation for
our wartime posture ("Gill's place is fighting the good fight against
unisex mediocrity"). We're always glad when the media can get word
out on the cause.

We'd also like to thank the readers of New Orleans' Gambit Weekly who've
once again named us "Best Barbershop" in the paper's annual "Best
of New Orleans" poll for 2006. "There's something manly about
an old-fashioned barbershop," Gambit writes, "and the ever-sardonic,
ever-sartorial Mr. Gill retains that feel without being stodgy or out-of-date."

In its latest New Orleans Guide, Time Out proclaims: "Stepping
into the shop, one is immediately put in mind of those bygone men's salons
where a gentleman would while away his afternoon with a cigar, a whiskey
and some lively banter." Our esteemed friends also note "Gill
offers handmade men's shaving gear, soaps, neckties and other accessories,
most of which you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere on this side of
the pond."
